With a lifetime dedicated to the theater, he has exercised most theatrical disciplines in a career that encompasses over four decades. Producer, director, writer, adaptor, set, lighting, costume, sound and makeup designer as well as graphic design for marketing, he has distinguished himself mainly in producing, directing and lighting.
From classic to modern theater, from musical comedies, zarzuelas and concerts, Rodríguez has always put his stamp on his productions. His career has taken him all over the United States, Central and South America, Europe and the Far East. Theatrical productions include: The Diary of Anne Frank, Steel Magnolias, Agnes of God, Cabaret, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Animal Farm, Same Time Next Year, Tribute, The House of Bernarda Alba, Aire Frío, Electra Garrigó, Life With Father, The Miracle Worker, The Crucible, A Little Something to Ease the Pain, María Antonia, Recuerdos de Tulipa, Yerma, and María la O. Three of his biggest hits were Man of La Mancha, an innovative redesign of the Cuban classic Cecilia Valdés, and a stage adaptation of the Cuban film Fresa y Chocolate.
In 2007, he slightly switched gears from straight theater to musical concerts, producing or directing some of the biggest names in Hispanic music such as Willy Chirino, David Bisbal, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Luis Miguel, Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Elvis Crespo, Luis Coronal, Prince Royce, Juanes, Franco De Vita, Sie7e, Reik, Christian Castro, Larry Hernández, Noel Torres, Pablo Alborán, Gloria Estefan, Israel López "Cachao", Lucrecia, Paquito D'Rivera, Victor Manuelle, Alejandra Guzmán, Sheila E, Lissette, Albita, among many others.
He has won several awards in the States, Spain and Argentina where he lived for over three years.
